ACCLAMATION BREWING PARTNERS WITH ARTIST JOE WOS TO ILLUSTRATE SERIES OF “CRYPTID CATCHERS” BEER LABELS. Release party and promotional activities scheduled for Friday, February 18, 2022.
VERONA, PA (January 2022) – Acclamation Brewing has announced a partnership with award-winning cartoonist, author, and artist Joe Wos to illustrate a limited number of the craft brewery’s upcoming beer labels. The “Cryptid Catchers” series of beers will feature Wos’ renderings of legendary beasts and mythological creatures, from the “Chupacabra” to the popular regional phantasms such as “Mothman”. The series will premiere with Pennsylvania’s fabled critter, “The Squonk”, a double IPA that will be released with a limited number of cans available beginning Friday, February 18, 2022. Additional beers/labels in the “Cryptid Catchers” series are planned through May, 2022; Joe Wos’ original artwork will be on display in Acclamation Brewing’s Verona taproom and available for purchase.
“Beer cans are more than just containers for liquid happiness, they are collectible works of art! I am happy to partner with Acclamation Brewing on this creative endeavor and will be hand signing each can proudly during the beer release party,” said artist Joe Wos. Acclamation Brewing is planning a family-friendly beer release party beginning at 5pm on 2/18/22. The artist will be onsite autographing cans for customers and fans; activities including coloring pages of various “Cryptid Catchers” drawn by Wos for kids of all ages, cryptozoology trivia, and a food truck are planned. ABOUT JOE WOS
Joe is an award-winning internationally syndicated published cartoonist, master maze maker, and performer. He is the host of the WQED TV show, Cartoon Academy and has been the visiting cartoonist of the Charles M. Schulz Museum for the past 19 years. Joe has been teaching the art of cartooning for over 30 years and currently runs the only credited cartooning program at a high school in North America at Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh. Joe performs live illustration with symphony orchestras, library programs, festivals and much more. “Cryptid Catchers” is Joe’s first brewery collaboration.
