Today’s MazeToons honors real life folkhero Johnny Appleseed!
Johnny Appleseed, whose real name was John Chapman was a pretty eccentric character. His first apple orchard was in my hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. From there he traveled up and down the rivers planting apple tree saplings, and handing out pages from his bible. He also was a bit misguided and planted lots of stinkweed, thinking (wrongly) it would cure malaria! But the name Johnny Stinkweed, just doesn’t have the same ring to it does it.
