Who says you can’t go home again? After 30 years I am returning to my high school! I was a member of the first graduating class back in 1988 of the newly merged Woodland Hills High School. This is my first time stepping foot back in the school in 30 years!

Woodland Hills Interaction Series Hosts World-renowned Cartoonist Joe Wos
Pittsburgh, PA: On Wednesday, February 21, 2018, the Woodland Hills Interaction Series will host cartoonist Joe Wos. The event will begin at 12:45 pm in the Woodland Hills Junior Senior High School Library Media Center. Mr. Wos is a professional cartoonist and maze designer. He is the founder of Pittsburgh’s ToonSeum, one of three museums in the United States with a focus on comic and cartoon arts. Since the age of fourteen, Mr. Wos has worked as a professional cartoonist and his work has been displayed in museums around the world. He created the world’s largest hand-drawn maze, measuring 140 square feet. Mr. Wos has published several books of mazes and his feature, MazeToons is distributed worldwide by Creators Syndicate.
Mr. Wos is a graduate of the first graduating class of Woodland Hills High School, the class of 1988. This is his first visit to Woodland Hills High School since graduating 30 years ago. Joe is the first member of WHHS’ first graduating class to speak at the Interaction Series.

The Woodland Hills Interaction Series (WHIS) was created by library media specialist Kevin McGuire and instructional technology coach Jason Coleman with the goal of providing first-class interaction opportunities for students at Woodland Hills Junior Senior High School.
During its first four years, the WHIS has hosted such notable guests as Colum McCann (National Book Award Winner/Academy Award nominated writer), Jennifer Egan (Pulitzer Prize Winner), Elizabeth Strout (Pulitzer Prize Winner), Dr. Sheri Fink (Pulitzer Prize Winner), Terrance Hayes (National Book Award winner/MacArthur Fellow), Jesse Andrews (New York Times Bestseller), Dr. Cyril Wecht, S.L. Price (Sports Illustrated Senior Writer), and Robert Bilheimer (Academy Award nominated director). Additionally, the WHIS has also hosted local writer Dave Newman, poet Jim Daniels, EPA Director Barnes Johnson and U.S. Ambassador Bryant Salter.
