While the majority of MazeToons are figurative mazes with illustrations of characters, creatures, and scenes, I will sometimes create more abstract mazes. Abstract mazes are an opportunity for me to play with depth, illusion and design. I like to alter perspective and avoid symmetry to create an off kilter design. I am a fan of the work of M.C. Escher and Salvador Dali, hints of their influence show through in the abstract mazes. Enjoy.
Great drawings! Why the S and F?
All of the art on MazeToons.com and in my syndicated feature are fully solvable mazes. Because the daily mazes are so small I can’t fit the words start and finish so I use the abbreviated “S” and “F”. Thanks for the question.
